The Girl Who Could Move Sh*t With Her Mind - Jackson Ford

“Teagan Frost is having a hard time keeping it together,” so begins the blurb for the book which I bought on a whim. OK, the title sold me on it when I saw it on the shelf. Anyway, it turns out that she is a type of agent for a shadowy government agency, and she has a superpower.

The reason she has a hard time keeping it together is because she makes bad decisions for the best reasons, and when things go south and she is accused of a crime, only she can solve it and clear her name.

What follows is a breakneck speed book of disaster after disaster for Teagan and which introduces us to the team and the world she inhabits. Each of her fellow agents has their own story to tell, each is damaged in some way, and that’s why they’ve ended up working for this agency.

Teagan’s story is deeper than it appears from my description. There is a history here of how she came to work for the agency, her parents and a brother and sister. Shadowy figures observe Teagan as she goes about her work and life. Oh, she has a relationship which is going about as well as the rest of her life.

The writing is good and pacey. Teagan’s voice comes across clear as day, and the action sequences are great.

Her power, Psychokinesis, is limited in range and effectiveness which makes her battles and use of it compelling. There are consequences to her using the power, headaches, exhaustion, which create the danger and thrills.

I really enjoyed this book and devoured it in just a few days!

You’ll like this one if you enjoy; Marvel films, James Bond, Spy stories, maybe Reacher, and the Corin Hayes series.
